Volleyball Recap: Oak Hill Takes a Loss

Oak Hill was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Capital Cougars.

Oak Hill started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-8, 25-17, 25-21.

Jenna Maynor paced Oak Hill's offense, picking up 13 kills. Maynor got some help from Danielle Parsons and her 23 assists. Maynor also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Amy Hollandsworth, each putting up three.

Leading Capital to victory were Riana Berkley and Jada Fruit. Berkley had 14 digs and four aces, while Fruit hit 81.8% for nine kills and nine digs and three aces. That's the most aces Berkley has posted over her last eight matchups.

Oak Hill's defeat dropped their record down to 15-23-4. As for Capital, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-22-4.

Oak Hill has already played their next match, a 3-2 victory against Nicholas County on the 23rd. As for Capital, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Herbert Hoover on the 23rd.
