Basketball Recap: Chillicothe Takes a Loss

Chillicothe was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They were dealt a 78-31 loss at the hands of the Benjamin Mustangs. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 68-29 on January 3rd.

Benjamin found their leader in sophomore Keegan Hayes, who dropped a triple-double on 16 points, 15 boards, and 15 assists. Hayes' evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Everett Cates was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 19 points and nine rebounds.

Chillicothe's defeat dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Benjamin, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a massive bump to their 9-7 record this season.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Northside the next time they take the court. Chillicothe will head out to face Northside at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while Benjamin will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on February 4th.
