Softball Recap: Dayton's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak at Home

After flying high against Newport on Friday, Dayton came back down to earth. The Greendevils lost 23-8 to the Nicholas County Bluejackets on Monday.

Ella Boyers was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Arrianna Russell also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Dayton's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-7. As for Nicholas County, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-14 record.

Looking ahead, Dayton will take on Beechwood at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Nicholas County has already played their next match (against Augusta), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
