Volleyball Game Preview: St. Joseph Catholic Bruins vs. Madison-Ridgeland Academy Patriots

St. Joseph Catholic is 0-10 against Madison-Ridgeland Academy since September of 2019 but things could change on Thursday. The Bruins are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will square off against the Patriots at 6:00 p.m. St. Joseph Catholic will be strutting in after a win while Madison-Ridgeland Academy will be coming in after a loss.

St. Joseph Catholic not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since September 5, 2024 (when they won 3-0). They blew past Clinton Christian Academy 3-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bruins.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-8, 25-21, 25-12.

Meanwhile, Madison-Ridgeland Academy didn't have quite enough to beat Brandon on Tuesday and fell 2-1. The Patriots haven't had much luck with the Bulldogs recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Madison-Ridgeland Academy sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The final score came out to 25-12, 23-25, 15-8.

St. Joseph Catholic will have to keep a close watch on Keira Hariel and Macy Gladden, a pair of players who had a big impact on Madison-Ridgeland Academy's prior game. Hariel had ten assists and five digs, while Gladden had six digs and two assists.

St. Joseph Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Madison-Ridgeland Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-2.

St. Joseph Catholic suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Madison-Ridgeland Academy in their previous meeting back in October of 2024.
