After losing to Centerville the last time they met, Irene/Wakonda decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Irene/Wakonda Eagles slipped by the Centerville Tornadoes 56-55 on Thursday. The win was familiar territory for the Eagles who have now won three games in a row.

Irene/Wakonda's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brody Johnke, who went 6 for 14 en route to 18 points. Cain Healy was another key player, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 12 boards.

Irene/Wakonda now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Centerville, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 6-3.

Irene/Wakonda didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 57-55 defeat against Alcester-Hudson on the 23rd. Centerville has also already played their next match, a 67-58 win against Freeman on the 21st.
