Softball Recap: Manitowoc Lincoln Comes Up Short

Manitowoc Lincoln lost against Oshkosh North back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Ships came up short against the Spartans, falling 9-3. The Ships have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Hailey Van Kauwenberg was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. Taylor Peterson also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Manitowoc Lincoln's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Oshkosh North, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 3-3 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Manitowoc Lincoln will face off against Ashwaubenon at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Ships' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Jaguars have averaged an impressive 7.7 runs per game this season. As for Oshkosh North, they will square off against Neenah at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rockets' pitching crew has only allowed one run per game this season, so the Spartans' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
