Volleyball Recap: Pacific Ridge Takes Down Patrick Henry in a Playoff Battle

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Pacific Ridge had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Patrick Henry Patriots. This was a revenge game for the Firebirds: when they faced off against the Patriots last Saturday, they had to take a 2-0 defeat.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-22, 25-16.

Safin Zaslansky paced Pacific Ridge's offense, picking up 18 kills. Zaslansky got some help from Jake Streitman and his 38 assists. Zaslansky also made an impact serving: he shared the team lead in aces with Brecken Armstrong, racking up two apiece.

The win got Pacific Ridge back to even at 18-18. As for Patrick Henry, their loss ended a nine-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 21-8.

Coming up, Pacific Ridge will head out on the road to square off against Clairemont at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Patrick Henry does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
