Preview: Regents Knights vs. St. Michael's Crusaders
Regents is 2-8 against St. Michael since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Regents Knights will head out on the road to challenge the St. Michael's Crusaders at 7:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the pair posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Regents posted their biggest win since December 16, 2023 on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 64-26 victory over Savio at home. Given Regents' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 408th, while Savio is ranked 1201st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, St. Michael's stacked a 13th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They blew past Hyde Park 96-31 on the road. The win was familiar territory for St. Michael's who now have six in a row.
Regents' victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 17-10. As for St. Michael's, they pushed their record up to 27-1 with that victory, which was their 13th straight on the road.
Regents was taken down by St. Michael's 80-46 when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Thankfully for Regents, Josh Jones (who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
