Basketball Recap: Germantown Takes a Loss

If Germantown was riding high fresh off their 89-21 takedown of Wauwatosa West last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Germantown Warhawks had to suffer through a 103-62 loss at the hands of the Wauwatosa East Red Raiders. The game was over by the end of the first half, with no points scored by either team from that point forward.

Defeat or not, Germantown got some senior leadership from Danica Gosz and Jaycee Mani. Gosz went 6 of 14 on her way to 17 points, while Mani posted 14 points and three steals. Gosz is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Teigan Stuve, who had nine points.

Germantown's loss dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Wauwatosa East, their win bumped their record up to 17-1.

Germantown and Wauwatosa East should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Wisconsin Rankings. Germantown will square off against West Allis Hale at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday up 295 places (84 vs. 379). Germantown is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 66.1 points per game this season. Similarly, Wauwatosa East (ranked fifth) will meet Menomonee Falls (ranked 108th) at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
