Football Recap: Kingsway Starts Season with Win Against Donovan Catholic

Kingsway had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They came out on top against the Donovan Catholic Griffins by a score of 20-7 on Thursday. The Dragons pushed the score to 20-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Griffins cut but never quite recovered from.

The critical scores for Kingsway came from Christian White, David Oravetz, and Luca Lentini.

Despite the loss, Donovan Catholic still got an impressive performance from Kahden Davis, who rushed for 119 yards and one touchdown on only 14 carries, and also threw for 137 yards on 16 of 29 attempts.

Looking ahead, Kingsway will head out on the road to take on Camden at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Donovan Catholic, they will look to defend their home field on the 5th against Holmdel at 6:30 p.m.
