Menchville is a perfect 10-0 against Denbigh since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Monarchs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Patriots at 4:30 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.
Denbigh will be up against a hot Menchville team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. The Monarchs never let Phoebus get on the board and left with a 14-0 victory on Saturday. The Monarchs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by nine runs or more this season.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Denbigh, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They were the clear victors by an 8-2 margin over Bethel on Friday. The Patriots not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since March 27th (when they won 19-1).
Russel Clark made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over 6.1 innings pitched. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Denbigh is 4-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 6-7 otherwise. Clark was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one triple and two RBI.
In other batting news, Jamaal Jones was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Liam Blazek was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Denbigh kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Denbigh's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-8. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. As for Menchville, their win bumped their record up to 12-6.
Everything went Menchville's way against Denbigh in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, as Menchville made off with a 16-0 victory. Do the Monarchs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Patriots turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
