Baseball Recap: McLoud Comes Up Short

McLoud extended their losing streak to six on Friday, dropping them down to 3-16. They came up short against the Elk City Elks, falling 12-0. The Redskins were not able to make up for their defeat to the Elks from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

As for Elk City, they now have a winning record of 9-8. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their two-run performance the contest before.

For Elk City's part, Freddy Arvizu was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Arvizu is becoming a predictor of the Elks' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 6-8 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Miller Mayfield, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Coming up, McLoud will take on Guthrie at 4:45 p.m. on Saturday. As for Elk City, they will face off against Piedmont at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
