Soccer Recap: Village Tech Takes a Loss

After soaring to nine goals the game before, Village Tech was a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They lost 9-0 to the Godley Wildcats. While losing is never fun, the Viper Squid can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 652nd, while the Wildcats are ranked 124th).

Village Tech's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-8. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three games. As for Godley, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-4.

Village Tech does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Godley, they will face off against Gatesville at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Godley's favor as the team sits on five straight wins at home while Gatesville has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
