Soccer Recap: Crete Comes Up Short

If Crete was riding high fresh off their 10-0 takedown of Gibbon on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cardinals fell 5-3 to the Lexington Minutemen on Saturday. The loss continues a trend for Crete in their meetings with Lexington: they've now lost five in a row.

Crete's defeat dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Lexington, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 8-2.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Crete will square off against rival Beatrice on Monday. Meanwhile, Lexington is set to take on their familiar foe Scottsbluff at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
