Basketball Recap: Bismarck Falls Despite Big Games from August Martinez and Austin Dunlap

Bismarck was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 60-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Valle Catholic Warriors. If the Indians were looking for revenge after losing 69-59 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Bismarck's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Austin Dunlap, who went 9 of 14 en route to 22 points and seven boards, and August Martinez, who went 7 for 13 on his way to 16 points and five blocks. With that strong performance, Martinez is now averaging an impressive 2.1 blocks per game.

Bismarck's loss dropped their record down to 5-14. As for Valle Catholic, they now have a winning record of 10-9.

Bismarck will face off against Ellington at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Valle Catholic has already played their next game (against Central), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
