Basketball Recap: Pope John Paul II Comes Up Short

Pope John Paul II lost against Christ Presbyterian Academy back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Pope John Paul II Knights fell 52-40 to the Christ Presbyterian Academy Lions. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 180th, while the Lions are ranked 41st).

Pope John Paul II has also been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-13 record this season. As for Christ Presbyterian Academy, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-5.

Looking ahead, Pope John Paul II will take on Harpeth Hall at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Christ Presbyterian Academy, they will be playing at home against Father Ryan at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
