Basketball Recap: Valley Lutheran's Victory on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Valley Lutheran came tearing into Saturday's match with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19 points) and they left with even more momentum. They strolled past the Dishchii'bikoh Wildcats with points to spare, taking the game 76-61. That's two games straight that the Flames have won by exactly 15 points.

Valley Lutheran was led to victory by John McLaughlin and Caynan Chapman. McLaughlin dropped a double-double on 27 points and 11 rebounds, while Chapman dropped a double-double on 25 points and 13 boards. The contest was Chapman's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Henley, who posted three points and seven assists.

Valley Lutheran was working as a unit and finished the game with 23 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Valley Lutheran's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-3. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.9 points per game. As for Dishchii'bikoh, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-9.

Valley Lutheran will head out to face off against NFL Yet Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Valley Lutheran has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Dishchii'bikoh does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
