Softball Game Preview: Lafayette Rams vs. York Falcons

Lafayette hasn't had much luck against York recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Rams will head out to face off against the Falcons at 4:30 p.m. Lafayette has given up an average of 16.6 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Lafayette lost 28-1 to Gloucester on Wednesday.

Lafayette saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Taylor Durran, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Meanwhile, York earned a 15-11 victory over Smithfield on Wednesday. The Falcons haven't had any issues with the Packers recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

The team relied heavily on Leslee Maldonado, who went a perfect 5-for-5 with three stolen bases, four runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Lilly Prosser, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.

York always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

York's record is now 10-7. As for Lafayette, their loss dropped their record down to 0-18.

Lafayette might still be hurting after the 19-6 defeat they got from York in their previous meeting back in April. Can the Rams avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
