Softball Recap: Chapin Takes a Loss

After soaring to 19 runs the game before, Chapin was a bit more limited in their contest on Saturday. They fell just short of the Eastwood Troopers by a score of 2-1. The Huskies have struggled against the Troopers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Chapin saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Briana Aponte, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Chapin's defeat dropped their record down to 12-4-2. As for Eastwood, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 17-1-1.

Looking ahead, Chapin will venture away from home to challenge Bel Air at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Bel Air has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.11 runs per game on average), something Chapin will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Eastwood, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Del Valle at 6:30 p.m. Eastwood's pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so Del Valle's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
