Basketball Game Preview: Brandon Eagles vs. Jefferson Dragons

The Brandon Eagles will take on the Jefferson Dragons at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Brandon will be strutting in after a victory while Jefferson will be coming in after a defeat.

Having struggled with 15 losses in a row dating back to last season, Brandon turned things around against Strawberry Crest on Tuesday. They skirted past the Chargers 40-37. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Eagles have posted since February 5, 2024.

Meanwhile, Jefferson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were outmatched by East Bay and fell 60-26. While losing is never fun, the Dragons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 439th, while the Indians are ranked 208th).

Jefferson's loss dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Brandon, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-14.

Brandon didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Jefferson when the teams last played back in January of 2024, but they still walked away with a 34-30 win. Will Brandon repeat their success, or does Jefferson have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
