Softball Recap: Guilford Takes a Loss

The matchup between Guilford and East Lyme on Tuesday hardly resembled the 1-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Grizzlies fell just short of the Vikings by a score of 10-9. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Grizzlies of the 1-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Guilford got a massive performance out of Peton Lemay, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Ava Eagleson, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for Guilford and nudges their season record down to 10-10. As for East Lyme, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-12 record.

As of now, neither Guilford nor the Vikings have any future games scheduled.
