Basketball Recap: Jordan Skates Past East Chapel Hill with Ease

Jordan waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They claimed a resounding 55-22 win over the East Chapel Hill Wildcats. The Falcons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 24 points or more this season.

Jordan found their leader in sophomore Olivia Yancey, who went 11 of 17 en route to 25 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Valerie-Ange Batta, who posted eight points.

Jordan was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Alana Burroughs and Alison Zaranek certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Burroughs earned eight points and five steals, while Zaranek had six points. Burroughs has been hot, having posted four or more steals the last eight times she's played.

Jordan is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.7 points per game. As for East Chapel Hill, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-12 record this season.

Jordan will challenge Riverside-Durham at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Jordan is facing Riverside-Durham at the right time seeing as Riverside-Durham is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for East Chapel Hill, they will take on Hillside at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
