Baseball Recap: Sauk Centre Mainstreeters vs. Holdingford Huskers
After flying high against West Central Area last Thursday, Sauk Centre came back down to earth. The Mainstreeters fell just short of the Holdingford Huskers by a score of 9-8 on Friday. The Mainstreeters have struggled against the Huskers recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.
Evan Zales was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over 5.1 innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Zales was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.
In other batting news, Leyton Fuchs was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. Logan Frank was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.
Sauk Centre's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Holdingford, the victory also got them back to even at 1-1.
