Basketball Recap: Macedonian Christian Falls Despite Big Games from Colin Vavra and Ty Morgan

Macedonian Christian lost against Jubilee Brownsville back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Macedonian Christian fell 64-54 to Jubilee Brownsville.

Macedonian Christian's loss came despite strong showings from Ty Morgan and Colin Vavra. Morgan posted nine points and six boards, while Vavra dropped a double-double with ten points and 12 rebounds. Morgan has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Jacob Mendoza was another key player, putting up ten points and seven rebounds.

Deron Holland produced another solid effort going 10-for-19 en route to 31 points along with six assists and four steals for Jubilee Brownsville. What's more, Holland also posted a 38% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in January. Another player making a difference was Lucca Ramirez, who shot 55% from the field on his way to 17 points in addition to six boards and three blocks.

Macedonian Christian now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Jubilee Brownsville, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-1.

Macedonian Christian has already played their next contest, a 73-60 loss against La Feria on the 24th. As for Jubilee Brownsville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 48-36 defeat against Mission Veterans Memorial on the 25th.
