Softball Recap: El Camino Real Wins Going Away Against Chatsworth

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Birmingham, El Camino Real was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 17-1 margin over the Chatsworth Chancellors. The Royals might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by six runs or more this season.

Talya Haim and Senia Gutierrez did most of the damage at the plate: Haim went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, two doubles, and one stolen base, while Gutierrez went 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those two doubles gave Haim a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Sarah Delgado, who went 1-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

El Camino Real was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .568. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

El Camino Real has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-10 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Chatsworth, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-14.

El Camino Real wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, an 11-1 loss against Granada Hills Charter on the 7th. As for Chatsworth, they have also already played their next game, an 11-1 defeat against Birmingham on the 5th.
