Basketball Recap: Evangelical Christian Takes a Loss

Evangelical Christian lost against St. Joseph's Academy back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Evangelical Christian Sentinels fell just short of the St. Joseph's Academy Angels by a score of 51-48. The Sentinels have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Evangelical Christian still got an impressive performance from Nalah Smith, who went 7 for 14 on her way to 22 points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kellisia Grant, who posted 11 points and seven boards.

Even though they lost, Evangelical Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in four consecutive contests.

Evangelical Christian's record now sits at 11-7. As for St. Joseph's Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-3.

Evangelical Christian won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Seacrest Country Day at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Evangelical Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.1 points per game this season. As for St. Joseph's Academy, they are taking a road trip to take on Notre Dame at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Notre Dame will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something St. Joseph's Academy surely won't give up without a fight.
