Basketball Game Preview: Alief Elsik Rams vs. Alief Taylor Lions

The Alief Elsik Rams are taking a road trip to square off against the Alief Taylor Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Alief Elsik is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.2 points per game this season.

Alief Elsik took a loss when they played away from home last Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They took down Fulshear 51-37. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Rams as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Timothy Ofesi was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 18 boards. He is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last nine games he's played. Trenton Scott was another key player, putting up ten points and three steals.

Meanwhile, Alief Taylor was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against George Ranch, falling 73-50. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 785th, while the Longhorns are ranked 206th).

Alief Taylor's defeat dropped their record down to 8-16. As for Alief Elsik, their victory bumped their record up to 10-16.

Alief Elsik came up short against Alief Taylor when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 49-43. Can Alief Elsik avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
