Softball Recap: McCook Central/Montrose Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Gayville-Volin, McCook Central/Montrose was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They came out on top against the Flandreau Fliers by a score of 7-2.

Zaidee Huls was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She tossed seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off nine hits. Huls was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ashtyn Deknikker, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI. Josalyn Traupel was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI.

McCook Central/Montrose now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Flandreau, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-7.

Looking ahead, McCook Central/Montrose is taking a road trip to challenge Scotland/Menno at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Flandreau, they will host Wagner at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
