Baseball Recap: Cowan's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Cowan came into Thursday's contest having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They never let the Wes-Del Warriors get on the board and left with a 10-0 win on Thursday. The Blackhawks not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since April 28th (when they won 19-1).

The team relied heavily on Jaden Unger, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. That's the most runs he has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaydon Auker, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

Cowan always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .536. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Cowan's victory bumped their record up to 9-10. As for Wes-Del, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-15.

Coming up, Cowan will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Frankton at 10:00 a.m. Wes-Del will be paying especially close attention to the Blackhawks' game: after the Blackhawks face off against the Eagles, they'll take on Wes-Del again at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
