Baseball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Madison

Madison had already won three in a row and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-7 victory over the Mira Mesa Marauders. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 7-3 on Monday.

Charlie Kroning looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on William Barden, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Harrison Brown was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Madison hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mira Mesa struck out nine times.

Madison's record now sits at 19-5. As for Mira Mesa, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-14.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Marauders beat Madison by a score of 11-2 on Thursday.
