Football Recap: Carlinville Cavaliers vs. Litchfield/Mt. Olive
Carlinville gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They blew past Litchfield/Mt. Olive 37-12. That's more bragging rights for the Cavaliers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.
Carlinville got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Nate Dyer out in front who rushed for 112 yards and a touchdown on only 15 carries. Another receiver making a difference was Mason Gilpin, who gained 107 total yards and two touchdowns.
Although Litchfield/Mt. Olive took the loss, they still got scores from Kayden Bergman and Keaton Morgan.
Carlinville will take on Pana at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Litchfield/Mt. Olive, they will look to take advantage of their home-field for the first time this season as they take on Southwestern at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Litchfield/Mt. Olive focused on turnovers this week as team gave up four on Friday.
