Football Recap: W.S. Neal Takes a Loss

If W.S. Neal was feeling good fresh off their 55-0 takedown of Marianna last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Eagles were beaten by the Blountstown Tigers 38-7 on Friday. The Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 26-0.

It was another big night for Amari Thomas, who rushed for 171 yards and one score while picking up 9.0 yards per carry for Blountstown. Thomas' rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 145 rushing yards. Jaylen Jones was in the mix as well, providing Blountstown with two touchdowns.

W.S. Neal's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Blountstown, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

W.S. Neal and Blountstown should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in their respective state rankings. The Eagles (ranked 104th) will meet Satsuma (ranked 278th) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Blountstown will face off against Sneads at 7:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (142 vs. 395).
