Softball Game Preview: Hudson Explorers vs. Holy Name Green Wave

The Hudson Explorers will take on the Holy Name Green Wave at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hudson is looking for their season's first victory.

On Wednesday, Hudson came up short against Twinsburg and fell 5-2. The contest marked the Explorers' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Corinne Stearns and Shawna Baylor stepped up to the plate in a big way. Stearns scored a run while going 2-for-4, while Baylor scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. That stolen base was Baylor's first of the season.

Meanwhile, Holy Name didn't have quite enough to beat Elyria Catholic on Tuesday and fell 7-5.

Ava Posa made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double and one RBI. Kylee Blinky was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Hudson's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Holy Name, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 7-2.
