Baseball Recap: Galesburg-Augusta Has No Trouble Against Martin

While Galesburg-Augusta put up some runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Martin. The Rams were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Clippers. The result was nothing new for the Rams, who have now won four matchups by ten runs or more so far this season.

Nate Ewert and Ethan Gibson did most of the damage at the plate: Ewert went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run, while Gibson went 1-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Gibson is becoming a predictor of Galesburg-Augusta's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 1-2 when he doesn't). Ashton Matrau was another key player, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

The win made it two in a row for Galesburg-Augusta and bumps their season record up to 5-2. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for Martin, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4.
