Basketball Game Preview: Beacon Blue Demons vs. Democracy Prep Dragons

After both having extra time off, the Beacon Blue Demons and the Democracy Prep Dragons will shake off the cobwebs and take on one another at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Beacon's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six matchups.

Last Thursday, Beacon took their contest with ease, bagging a 55-22 victory over Math Science & Engineering. Given the Blue Demons' advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 120th, while Math Science & Engineering are ranked 481st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Democracy Prep). They blew past Laguardia 105-53 last Friday. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Dragons with their most commanding win of the season.

Beacon pushed their record up to 5-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Democracy Prep, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.
