Softball Game Preview: Lakeside Dragons vs. Conneaut Spartans

Lakeside is 0-9-1 against Conneaut since April of 2017 but things could change on Wednesday. The Dragons are taking a road trip to square off against the Spartans at 4:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Lakeside came up short against Geneva on Tuesday, falling 22-1.

Lakeside saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Samantha Murphy, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run.

Meanwhile, while it was Conneaut who put the first runs on the board on Monday, it was Jefferson Area who put up more. The Spartans lost 22-5 to the Falcons. The Spartans haven't had much luck with the Falcons recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Conneaut's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Lakeside, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-10.

Lakeside couldn't quite get it done against Conneaut in their previous meeting on April 13th as they fell 9-5. Can the Dragons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
