Basketball Recap: Josiah Peters Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Marist

After losing to Marist the last time they met, Philomath decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Warriors came out on top against the Spartans by a score of 49-38 on Tuesday.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Philomath to victory, but perhaps none more so than Josiah Peters, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaden Howard, who posted six points.

Despite the defeat, Marist had strong showings from Macoy Harbert, who scored ten points, and Boston Frey, who earned ten points in addition to five assists and four steals.

The victory got Philomath back to even at 1-1. As for Marist, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 1-1.

Philomath has already played their next contest (against West Albany), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Marist, they will challenge Crescent Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
