Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Monroe Central). Everything went their way against the Randolph Southern Rebels on Friday as the Monroe Central Golden Bears made off with a 79-57 win. The Golden Bears have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Monroe Central's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Justus Ullom, who shot 60% from beyond the arc en route to 20 points. The last time Ullom's three-point shooting accuracy was this high was back in December of 2024. Easton Foster was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with 13 points and nine boards.

The win was the third in a row for Monroe Central, bringing their record for this year to 15-6. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 23.3 points. As for Randolph Southern, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-16 record this season.

Monroe Central and Randolph Southern are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Monroe Central will face off against Cambridge City Lincoln at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cambridge City Lincoln is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.5 points per game this season. As for Randolph Southern, they will challenge Union City at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Randolph Southern is facing Union City at the right time seeing as Union City is stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
