Softball Recap: Perry Takes a Loss

Perry was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Lima Senior Spartans, falling 13-3. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Makenna Dray was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddy McKee, who went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases and one run.

Perry's loss dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Lima Senior, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-5 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Perry will host Waynesfield-Goshen at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Lima Senior, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Elida at 5:00 p.m. The Spartans are on a four-game streak of home wins, the Bulldogs a three-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind.
