Basketball Game Preview: Rocket City Falcons vs. Evangel Christian Lightning

Rocket City is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Evangel Christian is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Rocket City Falcons will host the Evangel Christian Lightning at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Rocket City played in conference for the first time on Saturday and they got just the result they we're looking for. They slipped by Bluegrass 33-32.

Meanwhile, Evangel Christian hadn't done well against Wiregrass recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Evangel Christian really took it to Wiregrass for the full four quarters, racking up a 49-21 victory. The Lightning have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 25 points or more this season.

Rocket City better focus on containing Rachel Cassimiro and Makayla Cranford as the pair were huge in Evangel Christian's win. Cassimiro posted 13 points, while Cranford put up ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Owen, who had six points.

Evangel Christian's win bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Rocket City, their victory bumped their record up to 5-9.
