Baseball Recap: Pittsburg Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Pittsburg can now relate to. They fell just short of the Farmersville Farmers by a score of 4-3 on Thursday. The Pirates' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it five in a row.

Pittsburg saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lane Hall, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one double. Andrew Moss also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Pittsburg's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Farmersville, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-13 record this season.

While Pittsburg had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
