Softball Game Preview: Crockett Bulldogs vs. Coldspring-Oakhurst Trojans

Crockett hasn't had much luck against Coldspring-Oakhurst recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Crockett Bulldogs will look to defend their home field against the Coldspring-Oakhurst Trojans at 5:00 p.m. Crockett is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.4 runs per game this season.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Crockett's offense. They lost 10-0 to Coldspring-Oakhurst on Tuesday. Having soared to a lofty 17 runs in the game before, the Bulldogs' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

For Coldspring-Oakhurst's part, they let Jasper Williams and Haylee Rosales run wild. Williams scored two runs and stole Three bases. while going 2-for-3, while Rosales got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs and one triple. That's the most stolen bases Williams has posted since back in February. Krissie Bennett was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

Coldspring-Oakhurst was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .409. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Crockett's defeat dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Coldspring-Oakhurst, their victory bumped their record up to 12-6.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Crockett has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Coldspring-Oakhurst struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
