Baseball Recap: Clare Extends Winning Streak to Six

Clare won against Pinconning on Thursday with seven runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Saturday. The Pioneers beat the Spartans by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 7-1. The Pioneers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by six runs or more this season.

The victory (which was Clare's sixth in a row) raised their record to 8-4-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Pinconning, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-7.

Looking ahead, Clare will head out on the road to challenge Beaverton at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Beavers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so the Pioneers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
