Baseball Recap: Germantown Now 6-1 over Last Seven Games

Germantown got themselves on the board against Marquette University on Tuesday, but Marquette University never followed suit. They walked away with a 3-0 win over the Hilltoppers. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Warhawks also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2024.

Not much got past Evan Lauer, who gave up just three hits to keep Marquette University off the board. Lauer has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Germantown saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carter Gordon, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Germantown has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for Marquette University, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-8.

Germantown will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Hilltoppers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
