Basketball Recap: New Braunfels Snags Third Victory in Last Four Games

New Braunfels lost to Canyon back in December of 2023, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. The New Braunfels Unicorns walked away with a 42-35 win over the Canyon Cougars. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Unicorns.

Alyana Mcgarity continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, almost dropping a double-double on 14 points and nine boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryler Wilson, who posted eight points and seven rebounds.

New Braunfels has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-11 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.8 points per game. As for Canyon, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-10.

New Braunfels will take on Alamo Heights at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Canyon, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Clemens at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Canyon is facing Clemens at the right time seeing as Clemens is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
