Softball Recap: Riverside Comes Up Short

After flying high against Young Women's STEAM Research & Preparatory Academy last Thursday, Riverside came back down to earth. The Rangers lost 11-3 to the Ysleta Indians on Wednesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Indians this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-6 back in March.

Riverside's loss dropped their record down to 14-12. As for Ysleta, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 16-13 record this season.

Riverside will square off against Irvin at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Rockets have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15.96 runs per game on average), something the Rangers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Ysleta, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bowie at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
