Albert Lea has been on a difficult stretch since their win on the 2nd. They came up short against the Mankato East Cougars on Tuesday, falling 8-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Albert Lea of the 6-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Albert Lea's loss dropped their record down to 3-5-3. As for Mankato East, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That somehow still isn't as good as their 10-2-1 record this season.
