Basketball Recap: St. Patrick's Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

St. Patrick had lost seven straight headed into Saturday's matchup, but Sophia Baca didn't let it get to eight. The St. Patrick's Irish skirted past the Cozad Haymakers 42-40 thanks in part to Baca, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 16 boards. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.

St. Patrick's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-9. As for Cozad, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season.

St. Patrick's (ranked 209th) will meet Broken Bow (ranked 62nd) on Thursday. Similarly, Cozad (ranked 225th) will meet Gothenburg (ranked 22nd) at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
