Baseball Game Preview: Vineland Fighting Clan vs. Atlantic County Institute of Tech

Vineland is a perfect 10-0 against Atlantic County Institute of Tech since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Fighting Clan will be playing at home against Atlantic County Institute of Tech at 1:00 p.m. Atlantic County Institute of Tech took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Vineland, who comes in off a win.

Vineland took a ten-run defeat the last time they faced off against St. Augustine Prep, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Fighting Clan came out on top in a nail-biter against the Hermits on Wednesday, sneaking past 3-2. Three seems to be a good number for the Fighting Clan as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Mario Toro spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on seven hits and racked up eight Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Xavier Etheridge, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Meanwhile, Atlantic County Institute of Tech was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of Absegami.

The victory made it two in a row for Vineland and bumps their season record up to 10-8. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.5 runs across that stretch. As for Atlantic County Institute of Tech, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-16.

Everything went Vineland's way against Atlantic County Institute of Tech in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as Vineland made off with a 12-0 win.
