Baseball Recap: Heritage Continues Home Dominance on Wednesday

Heritage proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by ten) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Fort Wayne Bishop Luers Knights 7-6. For the Patriots, this counts as revenge for the 6-5 victory the Knights walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

The team relied heavily on Cameron Rauner, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Landri Linder, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Heritage's win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Fort Wayne Bishop Luers, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-6.

Looking ahead, Heritage will head out on the road to challenge Southern Wells at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Raiders have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.55 runs per game on average), something the Patriots will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Fort Wayne Bishop Luers, they will welcome Fort Wayne Snider at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Panthers will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Knights surely won't give up without a fight.
